The Centre[3] - Martha Street Studio Residency Exchange, 2018/19

Submission Deadline: Wednesday, October 10th, 2018

Duration: two weeks, between December 1st, 2018 - April 30th, 2019

Martha Street Studio is accepting submissions for its second Centre[3] – Martha Street Studio Residency Exchange. Martha Street Studio will select one artist to attend two-weeks of complimentary studio time at Centre[3]for Print and Media Arts (Hamilton, ON) to work on a print media based project between December 1st, 2018 and April 30th, 2019. In addition, the selected artist will receive:

  • A $600 artist fee
  • $400 to go towards travel & accommodation
  • $200 towards materials
  • Up to three hours of technical assistance at Centre[3]
  • A one-year membership to Centre[3]

The selected artist must be able to work independently in their chosen medium. The selected artist will arrange the timing of the residency with Centre [3]. Artists are responsible for organizing their own transportation and accommodation. If you require more information please contact

Submission requirements:

  • 10 images (1024 x 768 pixels, 72 dpi)
  • A current CV with contact information
  • A short project proposal (1 page maximum) of work to be completed while at Centre[3]

All applicants must have a valid Martha Street Studio membership. ($35 regular /$20 student/senior/low income, per year)

Centre[3] for Print and Media Arts is an artist-run centre dedicated to promoting print and media arts in contemporary artistic discourse. Centre[3]'s extensive Print Arts facilities are housed in a 6000 square foot arts centre, located at the heart of the James Street North Arts District. As a production, exhibition, education centre and animator of community arts, Centre[3] supports both traditional and experimental print media and media art practices. The centre encourages research and innovation and provides forums for discussion and examination of critical and theoretical issues. Centre[3] supports artists in the development of their professional endeavours and acts as a resource centre for the visual and media arts community.
